(19 de junio de 2017 – Río Grande) El gobernador Ricardo Rosselló Nevares y la secretaria de Educación, Julia Keleher, entregaron el reconocimiento Maestro del Año 2017 a siete educadores destacados de todo Puerto Rico.

“El magisterio es fundamental dentro del sistema educativo. Nuestra administración busca fomentar la calidad y creatividad de los educadores y los seleccionados hoy son un ejemplo de que hay espacio para la innovación dentro del salón de clases“, sostuvo el primer ejecutivo.

(7 de junio de 2017 – La Fortaleza) El gobernador Ricardo Rosselló Nevares firmó la Ley para las Iglesias-Escuela, estatuto que salvaguarda el derecho fundamental de los padres y madres a educar a sus hijos e hijas en tales planteles en conformidad con sus preferencias, creencias y valores.

Las Iglesias-Escuela surgen del contexto social que reconoce la educación privada como parte de la oferta educativa en la Isla.

(30 de mayo de 2017 – La Fortaleza) El secretario de la Gobernación, William Villafañe, se reunió esta tarde con la directiva del Consejo General de Estudiantes del Recinto de Río Piedras (CGE-RP) de la Universidad de Puerto Rico (UPR) y acordó coordinar una reunión con los dos nuevos designados a la Junta de Gobierno y evaluar cinco medidas ya radicadas ante la Asamblea Legislativa que pudieran allegar fondos adicionales a la institución.

(29 de marzo de 2017 –La Fortaleza) Como parte de los esfuerzos para promover la igualdad, la primera dama Beatriz Rosselló acudió hoy a la Universidad Politécnica para participar del Simposio Mujeres en la Transportación que intenta promover que más mujeres estudien y se inserten en este campo.

La iniciativa del simposio surge en 2009 en respuesta a una orden ejecutiva de la Casa Blanca que discute cómo identificar estrategias para sobrepasar las barreras que impiden un desarrollo exitoso de las niñas y mujeres en ciertas carreras.
