San Juan, Puerto Rico – “The disaster supplemental compromise that was approved in the U.S. Senate contains key priorities for Puerto Rico’s continued recovery, including 600 million dollars in Emergency Nutritional Assistance Funding that will provide much needed aid to over one million Puerto Ricans still recovering from the devastating Hurricane María.

“The bill also includes a provision requiring the administration to finally make available to Puerto Rico the 8.9 billion dollars in CDBG-DR funding that have been withheld. This is critical for our reconstruction.

Brothers and sisters of Puerto Rico,

Once again, the Financial Oversight and Management Board unfairly and unnecessarily threatens our people. On this occasion, again, the threat is against the pensioners of our public service, affecting over 170,000 of our retirees.

I want to begin my words by reiterating that I am opposed to this unjustified attack against an important sector of our population.

(April 24, 2019 - La Fortaleza, San Juan) Governor of Puerto Rico Ricardo Rosselló offered today his third Message on the Situation of the State, in which he highlighted the five transformation objectives that define the Agenda for Puerto Rico.

During his speech, the chief executive explained the need of an agenda that looks firmly into the future.

San Juan – Governor Ricardo Rosselló Nevares signed today the law that will establish the public energy policy of Puerto Rico and which requires the progressive elimination of the use of fossil fuels as a source of power generation.
To this end, the law establishes a new timeline for the implementation of renewable energy on the island: the elimination of 20 percent of fossil fuels by 2022; 40 percent by 2025; 60 percent by 2040; and 100 percent renewable energy by the year 2050.

(October 31, 2018 - La Fortaleza, San Juan) Today, Governor of Puerto Rico Ricardo Rosselló announced the beginning of the request for qualification process (RFQ) for companies interested in managing and operating all facets of the energy distribution and transmission system of the Puerto Rico Electric Power Authority (PREPA) through the mechanism of public-private partnership (P3).

(June 5, 2018 - La Fortaleza, San Juan) "The Government of Puerto Rico complied with what is expressly provided for in the Puerto Rico Demographic Registry Act. However, a Court already determined that both the CPI and CNN are interested parties. The Puerto Rico Demographic Registry Act is clear in that an order of the Court can convert a party into an interested party beyond the requirements established by the Law, which is what happened in this case.
