Gobernador Rosselló Nevares anuncia retroactividad de enmiendas al Código de Seguros para beneficio de asegurados afectados por los huracanes Irma y María

(7 de marzo de 2019 – La Fortaleza, San Juan) El gobernador Ricardo Rosselló Nevares informó que Departamento de Justicia emitió una opinión en la cual declara como retroactivas las leyes 242-2018 y 247-2018. En particular, declaró retroactividad sobre las enmiendas al Código de Seguros, razón por la cual deberá aplicar a contratos de seguros de propiedad que fueran perfeccionados previo a la aprobación de ambas leyes.

Gobernador Rosselló Nevares acude a tribunales en defensa de los asegurados

(18 de septiembre de 2018 – La Fortaleza, San Juan) El gobernador Ricardo Rosselló Nevares informó hoy que de la Oficina del Comisionado de Seguros (OCS) y el Departamento de Asuntos del Consumidor (DACO) presentaron dos demandas en contra de las aseguradoras para velar por el interés público y defender a los asegurados tras el paso del huracán María por Puerto Rico.

Gobernador Rosselló Nevares convierte en ley medidas para fomentar mejores coberturas de seguros

(22 de julio de 2018 - La Fortaleza, San Juan) El gobernador Ricardo Rosselló Nevares firmó dos proyectos de ley que fomentan mejores coberturas de seguros en Puerto Rico y buscan establecer un marco regulatorio justo en la industria.

El Proyecto del Senado 935 es una medida presentada a petición del gobernador que enmienda el Código de Seguros para crear una mayor apertura a la participación de reaseguradores internacionales en el mercado local. Con esto se podrá tener en Puerto Rico mejores cubiertas y opciones en la industria de seguros.
