Huracán Irma

(September 7, 2017 – Canóvanas) Governor of Puerto Rico, Ricardo Rosselló, visited the northeastern part of the Island today, where he inspected the municipalities of Carolina, Loíza, and Canóvanas to observe the damages caused by the passage of Hurricane Irma through the area.

The governor expressed his satisfaction with the citizens' response to the government's call to take precautions before the passage of the tropical system.

(7 de septiembre de 2017 - Canóvanas) El gobernador Ricardo Rosselló Nevares realizó un recorrido hoy por el área noreste de la Isla, donde visitó los municipios de Carolina, Loíza y Canóvanas, para observar los daños causados por el paso del huracán Irma por esta zona.

De igual forma, el primer ejecutivo se expresó complacido por la respuesta de la ciudadanía ante el llamado del Gobierno para tomar las precauciones antes del paso del sistema tropical.

(7 de septiembre de 2017 - San Juan) El gobernador Ricardo Rosselló Nevares anunció que se estableció un Programa de Recuperación Económica para atender de emergencia a la industria puertorriqueña ante el paso del huracán Irma.

Este programa fue creado mediante una orden administrativa emitida por el secretario de Departamento de Desarrollo Económico y Comercio (DDEC) y director ejecutivo de la Compañía de Fomento Industrial (PRIDCO, por sus siglas en inglés), Manuel A. Laboy Rivera.

(7 de septiembre de 2017 – San Juan) El gobernador Ricardo Rosselló Nevares advirtió que –aunque el Centro Nacional de Huracanes descontinuó el aviso de huracán tras el paso de Irma por el área local–todavía se registrará lluvia durante el día de hoy, jueves que pudiera provocar inundaciones y situaciones de peligro.

El Servicio Nacional de Meteorología (SNM) estimó entre 8 a 12 pulgadas de lluvia en la zona de la montaña del área este, y hasta ocho pulgadas de lluvia a lo largo del Río Grande Manatí.

The National Weather Service (NWS) estimated 8 to 12 inches of rainfall in the mountainous zone of the eastern area, and up to eight inches of rain along the Rio Grande Manatí.

(September 6, 2017 – San Juan) Governor of Puerto Rico Ricardo Rosselló cautioned that citizens should be sheltered by Wednesday at noon in their homes or in one of the shelters provided by the Government, after the National Hurricane Center's latest report placed Hurricane Irma closer to the local area.

Meanwhile, the chief executive requested the US Department of Defense to activate the Army National Guard for recovery efforts following the hurricane's passage through Puerto Rico.

(6 de septiembre de 2017 –San Juan) El gobernador Ricardo Rosselló Nevares advirtió que la ciudadanía debe estar resguardada en su hogar o en uno de los refugios habilitados por el Gobierno al mediodía del miércoles, luego que el último reporte del Centro Nacional de Huracanes ubica al huracán Irma más cerca del área local.

Al mismo tiempo, el primer ejecutivo solicitó al Departamento de Defensa de Estados la activación del Army National Guard para los esfuerzos de recuperación tras el paso del huracán por Puerto Rico.

(6 de septiembre de 2017 – San Juan) El gobernador Ricardo Rosselló Nevares visitó hoy el refugio en la Escuela Bolívar Pagán cerca del residencial Manuel A. Pérez en San Juan, para inspeccionar las condiciones de alojamiento ante la emergencia por el paso del huracán Irma en el área local.

Además, el primer ejecutivo acudió a las oficinas centrales de Autoridad de Energía Eléctrica (AEE) en Santurce para agradecer a los empleados por su labor en tiempos de emergencia.

(September 5, 2017 – San Juan) Governor of Puerto Rico, Ricardo Rosselló, announced that the National Guard and the Puerto Rico Police will begin to evacuate flood-prone areas in the North and East of the Island, due to the imminent passage of Hurricane Irma tomorrow through the local area, for the purpose of safeguarding the lives of the residents of these zones.
