Governor Rosselló gives updates on preparations for Hurricane Irma

(September 5, 2017 – San Juan) Due to the hurricane warning issued for Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands before the passage of Hurricane Irma, the governor of Puerto Rico, Ricardo Rosselló, will request the president of the United States, Donald Trump, to declare a state of emergency for the Island prior to the disaster.

The decision was made following a meeting this morning with John Rabin, Acting Region Administrator of the Federal Emergency Management Administration Region II (FEMA) and FEMA Caribbean Area Division Director, Alejandro De La Campa .

Gobernador Rosselló Nevares visita la isla municipio de Culebra ante paso del huracán Irma por la zona

(4 de septiembre de 2017 – Culebra) El gobernador Ricardo Rosselló Nevares se reunió con el alcalde de Culebra, Iván Solís, para conocer las necesidades y los preparativos del municipio ante el inminente paso del huracán Irma por el área local.

A su llegada a Culebra —municipio que se espera reciba los primeros efectos del sistema tropical— el primer mandatario recordó a la ciudadanía que debe completar los planes familiares de contingencia y tomar las medidas preventivas necesarias en lo que queda de día hoy y mañana.

Gobernador Rosselló Nevares visita Loíza como parte de los preparativos ante la vigilancia por el huracán Irma

(4 de septiembre de 2017 – Loíza) El gobernador Ricardo Rosselló Nevares se reunió esta tarde con la alcaldesa de Loíza, Julia Nazario Fuentes, como parte de los preparativos ante la vigilancia por el inminente paso del huracán Irma por la Isla.

La alcaldesa informó al gobernador que se recogieron escombros en todas las comunidades, se limpiaron los cuerpos de agua y se habilitaron los refugios.

Governor Rosselló declares state of emergency due to Hurricane Irma watch

(September 4, 2017 – Caguas) Governor of Puerto Rico, Ricardo Rosselló, declared a state of emergency and activated the National Guard after the National Hurricane Center declared a hurricane watch for Puerto Rico due to the passage of the tropical system Irma.

A hurricane watch means that conditions in this category are expected in the area within 36 to 48 hours.

The governor announced that the government will operate Tuesday morning until noon to ensure that employees carry out public property protection plans.

Gobernador Rosselló Nevares declara estado de emergencia ante vigilancia de huracán Irma

(4 de septiembre de 2017 – San Juan) El gobernador Ricardo Rosselló Nevares declaró estado de emergencia y activó la Guardia Nacional luego que el Centro Nacional de Huracanes declaró vigilancia de huracán para Puerto Rico ante el paso del sistema tropical Irma.

Una vigilancia de huracán significa que condiciones de esta categoría se esperan en la zona dentro de 36 a 48 horas.

El primer ejecutivo anunció que el Gobierno operará mañana martes hasta el mediodía para asegurar que los empleados lleven a cabo los planes de protección de la propiedad pública.

Gobernador Rosselló Nevares exhorta a la ciudadanía a prestar atención a la trayectoria del huracán Irma

(3 de septiembre de 2017 –Caguas) El gobernador Ricardo Rosselló Nevares solicitó a la ciudadanía estar atenta a la trayectoria del huracán Irma, sistema que pudiera estar pasando por el área local al mediodía del miércoles.

El director del Servicio Nacional de Meteorología (SNM), Roberto García, informó que se pronostica que la Isla pudiera estar experimentando vientos de tormenta tropical y entre cuatro a ocho pulgadas de lluvia.

Gobernador Rosselló Nevares crea Grupo Interagencial para prevención de muertes por sobredosis de opiáceos

(31 de agosto de 2017 – La Fortaleza, San Juan) El gobernador Ricardo Rosselló Nevares firmó hoy la Orden Ejecutiva 2017-043 para establecer el Grupo de Trabajo Interagencial de Prevención de Muertes por Sobredosis de Opiáceos en Puerto Rico.

La función primaria de este grupo interagencial será recopilar de manera sistémica todos los datos relacionados a los casos de sobredosis de drogas en Puerto Rico.
