Gobernador participará de cumbre sobre seguridad energética

La Fortaleza – El gobernador Alejandro García Padilla informó hoy que asistirá a la “Caribbean Energy Security Summit”, invitado por el vicepresidente de los Estados Unidos, Joseph Biden. La cumbre se celebrará el próximo 26 de enero en Washington, D.C.

A la cumbre han sido invitados líderes caribeños y representantes de la comunidad internacional para promover la diversificación de las fuentes de energía en la región a través de un mayor acceso al financiamiento de proyectos.

El gobernador García Padilla, le cursó a su vez, una invitación al comisionado residente Pedro Pierluisi para que sea parte de la delegación de Puerto Rico que asistirá al evento.

La cumbre forma parte de la Iniciativa de Seguridad Energética del Caribe que el vicepresidente Biden anunció el pasado 14 de junio y que será organizada por la Casa Blanca y el Departamento de Estado federal, en colaboración con el Consejo del Atlántico y el Consejo de las Américas.
