Gobernador firma ley que facilita el acceso a datos geográficos

[FOTO CALCE] El gobernador Alejandro García Padilla estampó su firma hoy en el Proyecto de la Cámara 1783, que, entre otras cosas, crea el Sistema de Información Geoespacial del Estado Libre Asociado de Puerto Rico (SIGELA, por sus siglas); esto es un sistema central digital de información geoespacial integrada y de mapas que interrelaciona diferentes bancos de información y sirve como depositario de toda información geoespacial adquirida, comprada o producida por cualquier organismo gubernamental y/o persona natural o jurídica según se define en la ley. Esta red será administrada por la Oficina de Agrimensura de Puerto Rico, que estará adscrita a la Oficina de Gerencia de Permisos, y que también estará encargada del funcionamiento del Mapa Multifinalitario y Multidisciplinario, el Sistema de Coordenadas Planas Estatales y la Plataforma de Acceso. De igual forma, este organismo velará porque todas las agencias gubernamentales, municipios, corporaciones públicas, profesionales autorizados y el público en general puedan tener, de manera digital, un inventario detallado y realista de toda la infraestructura de utilidades estatales, servicios, comercios, vivienda, escuelas y estadísticas de temas variados que son necesarias para una planificación urbana que logre una calidad de vida óptima para nuestra ciudadanía.
