Approved statement by Governor Alejandro Garcia Padilla
September 4, 2014 - La Fortaleza – Gov. Alejandro García Padilla authorized the following statement about the approval by the Governing Board of the Electric Power Authority of the appointment of Lisa Donahue as Restructuring Officer of said public company:
"The appointment of Lisa Donahue as Restructuring Officer of the Electric Power Authority (PREPA) is an additional step in our effort to make the public corporation a more efficient company, to provide a reliable service and in compliance with environmental regulations. I am convinced that Donahue, who has over 23 years of experience in the areas of restructuring and business transformation, comes to the position with the greatest willingness and commitment to work together with the CEO of PREPA, Juan Alicea, and its Governing Board to address the difficulties being experienced by the Authority and thus ensure better service to the country. We know it will not be an easy road, but soon we will see how this transformation we have begun will allow us to move towards the goal to lower and stabilize the cost of energy."
