Gobernador recibe al ministro de Asuntos Exteriores de España

El gobernador Alejandro García Padilla recibió hoy en La Fortaleza al ministro de Asuntos Exteriores y de Cooperación de España, José Manuel García-Margallo. Como parte de la agenda, se discutieron maneras de fortalecer la relación comercial y cultural entre España y Puerto Rico; se trataron los temas de la doble imposición fiscal, la Casa Cultural de España en Puerto Rico y la Escuela Diplomática en Madrid, entre otros asuntos económicos y comerciales. Por su parte, el primer ejecutivo agradeció la visita del funcionario, al tiempo que afirmó que “nuestro vínculo natural, histórico y cultural con España representa nuestra puerta a Europa. De igual forma, ese mismo vínculo representa para la empresa española su puerta de entrada a las Américas.” Además del ministro, estaban presentes el embajador de España en Estados Unidos, Ramón Gil-Casares; el cónsul general de España en Puerto Rico, Eduardo Garrigues; el director general de España para América del Norte, Asia y el Pacífico, Ernesto de Zulueta; el director general de Relaciones Económicas Internacionales en el Ministerio de Asuntos Exteriores de España, Fernando Eguidazu; el secretario del Departamento de Desarrollo Económico y Comercio, Alberto Bacó; y el secretario de Estado, David Bernier, entre otros.
