Primera Dama obsequia a niños del albergue Casa Cuna

21 de diciembre de 2013 – San Juan – La primera dama, Wilma Pastrana Jiménez, visitó La Casa Cuna de San Juan, para llevar varios obsequios y productos de primera necesidad que fueron recolectados por un numeroso grupo de empleados de La Fortaleza.

Durante la visita, Pastrana Jiménez compartió con el personal de atención y cuidado médico a cargo de los menores que permanecen bajo la custodia del Departamento de la Familia. De igual forma, la alcaldesa de San Juan, Carmen Yulín Cruz Soto, agradeció a la primera dama por su visita y le acompañó junto a la directora del hogar, Loyda Zaiter, durante su recorrido a través de las instalaciones y residencias.

“Es una linda oportunidad para compartir con estos pequeños, dedicarles el amor y atención que merecen y abrazarles. Verdaderamente nuestra niñez es hermosa y cada uno de nosotros está llamado a cuidar de ellos”, dijo la primera dama.

Asimismo, los menores fueron sorprendidos por el espectáculo musical del Payaso Bombero, quien también realizó varios juegos junto a un grupo de empleados de La Fortaleza que acompañó a la primera dama.

“Esto es sólo una muestra del cariño inmenso que todos en La Fortaleza le tenemos y de lo que cada puertorriqueño y puertorriqueña debe continuar aportando para el desarrollo de nuestro país”, sostuvo Pastrana Jiménez.

La Casa Cuna de San Juan provee un hogar de transición a los niños y niñas que han sido maltratados o entregados de forma voluntaria. Los servicios ofrecidos incluyen terapias físicas y del lenguaje, enfermería 24 horas al día, nutrición y educación recreativa, entre otros.  En el lugar se ofrece, además, orientación y charlas sobre paternidad responsable, consejería y adopción.
