Gobernador Rosselló Nevares imparte veto expreso a medidas que persiguen enmendar la Ley de Menores

(5 de enero de 2018 – La Fortaleza, San Juan) El gobernador Ricardo Rosselló Nevares, impartió un veto expreso en los Proyectos 1035 y 1036 de la Cámara y al Proyecto del Senado 489 que perseguían adoptar nuevas leyes de menores y de justicia juvenil.

Los proyectos, aprobados por los cuerpos legislativos, establecerían política pública diametralmente opuesta para atender los mismos asuntos relacionados al manejo de los casos y conducta constitutiva de falta contra menores de 18 años.

“Estos proyectos establecen políticas públicas opuestas, y luego de examinarlos y considerar las objeciones de varios sectores, he decidido vetar expresamente los tres proyectos con miras a trabajar una ley que atienda los asuntos de menores de manera justa, responsable y que tome en consideración los reclamos de todos sectores”, expresó el gobernador.

El primer mandatario añadió que “me comuniqué con el presidente de la Cámara para dejarle saber mi decisión y le expresé mi interés por trabajar en conjunto un proyecto para establecer una política pública clara y contundente por parte de la Asamblea Legislativa y de la Rama Ejecutiva para manejar este asunto de forma responsable y sensible”.
