Fomentan espacio de orientación y cuidado para personas de edad avanzada

29 de junio de 2016 - San Juan - La primera dama, Wilma Pastrana Jiménez, participó en los actos de celebración del 30 Aniversario de la Ley 121, que establece la Carta de Derechos de las Personas de Edad Avanzada en Puerto Rico.

El Muelle Panamericano de San Juan sirvió como escenario para el desarrollo de la Feria de Servicios que desarrolla la Oficina del Procurador de la Personas de Edad Avanzada (OPPEA), con el propósito de atender las necesidades de dicha población de una forma integral.

“Para mí y para el Gobernador es de suma importancia que se garanticen estos servicios que son esenciales para nuestras personas adultas, pero más aún que se reconozca su gran aportación a nuestro desarrollo como país. Todos somos envejecientes y cada uno de nosotros tiene unos derechos que nos cobijan. De igual manera, tenemos unas responsabilidades como ciudadanos que debemos cumplir y velar por nuestro bienestar común”, sostuvo Pastrana Jiménez al hacer entrega de la proclama en compañía de la secretaria del Departamento de la Familia, Hon. Idalia Colón Rondón y la Procuradora de las Personas de Edad Avanzada, Dra. Carmen D. Sánchez Salgado.
