Gobernador continúa ronda de reuniones en la capital federal

28 de julio de 2015 - Washington D.C. - El gobernador Alejandro García Padilla sostuvo sendas reuniones con varios congresistas de Estados Unidos, con el propósito de lograr avances a favor de los planes de su administración para la recuperación económica del país.

El representante republicano por el cuarto distrito de Carolina del Sur, Trey Gowdy recibió a García Padilla, quien posteriormente se reunió con el congresista republicano de origen puertorriqueño y representante por el primer distrito de Idaho, Raúl Labrador. Luego, el primer mandatario sostuvo un encuentro con el representante Ted Poe del Quinto Distrito de Wisconsin.

Asimismo se reunió con el congresista republicano por el quinto distrito de Wisconsin y vicepresidente del Comité de lo Jurídico, Jim Sensenbrenner. De otra parte, García Padilla estuvo reunido con el congresista republicano por el primer distrito de Ohio, Steve Chabot.

En las reuniones, el Ejecutivo abogó por la aprobación del proyecto HR-870 para que Puerto Rico sea incluido en la Ley de Quiebras federal.
