Primera Dama recibe a Presidente Mundial de la Cámara Junior Internacional

13 de febrero de 2015 - La Fortaleza - La primera dama, Wilma Pastrana Jiménez, recibió en La Fortaleza al presidente Mundial de la Cámara Junior Internacional (JCI, por sus siglas en inglés), Ismail Haznedar.

La visita de Haznedar tuvo como propósito principal conocer la agenda de trabajo de la Comisión del Voluntariado y Servicio Comunitario para establecer alianzas de colaboración entre la JCI y el programa Americorps. Mientras, Pastrana Jiménez le dio la bienvenida a la Isla y agradeció su particular interés en aportar al desarrollo de las comunidades puertorriqueñas mediante el servicio comunitario y el apoyo a la juventud.

Al líder le acompañaron, además, el presidente de la Comisión del Voluntariado, Lcdo. Michael Rivera y la presidenta nacional de JCI Puerto Rico, Dra. Thay Méndez. La JCI es una organización mundial aliada de las Naciones Unidas, compuesta por una red internacional de jóvenes voluntarios en más de 100 países. Actualmente Puerto Rico cuenta con 8 organizaciones representantes en la JCI y más de 200 socios.
