Primera Dama lidera conferencia sobre sana alimentación

26 de noviembre de 2014 - San Juan - La primera dama, Wilma Pastrana Jiménez, lideró la conferencia ofrecida a empleados de la mansión ejecutiva acerca de la importancia de mantener una sana alimentación y prevenir condiciones de salud como la diabetes.

Bajo el tema 'Comienza tu día con un desayuno saludable', se ofrecieron varias recomendaciones para que los trabajadores y trabajadoras mantengan patrones alimenticios saludables en su estilo de vida, tales como el consumo de agua, mayor cantidad de alimentos altos en fibra, añadir más frutas y vegetales en su desayuno, y reducir las porciones de alimentos con alto contenido de azúcar, entre otros.

La charla, que también fue extensiva a empleados del Departamento de Estado, fue ofrecida por la nutricionista del Programa de Prevención de Diabetes del Departamento de Salud, Lic. Cinthia Santiago, en el Salón Power y Giralt del Departamento de Estado.

La iniciativa forma parte del programa Salud Vital, que fue creado mediante una orden ejecutiva del gobernador, Alejandro García Padilla, con el propósito de promover y fomentar una cultura de trabajo que se desarrolla en un ambiente de salud integral para todos los empleados del Palacio de Santa Catalina e instalaciones agrupadas bajo la Oficina del Gobernador.

Además, ya se han realizado sendas clínicas de cernimiento y mamografías en las instalaciones de La Fortaleza.
