Primera Dama continúa visitas en segunda fase de Proyectos de Vida

22 de abril de 2014 - Adjuntas - La primera dama, Wilma Pastrana Jiménez, visitó por segunda ocasión la escuela elemental Domingo Pietri del municipio de Adjuntas como parte del programa Proyectos de Vida que lleva a través de toda la isla. En esta ocasión, inspeccionó el desarrollo y evolución del huerto escolar que se inauguró en el plantel durante el semestre pasado.

Además, la primera dama le proveyó a los estudiantes herramientas adicionales para que continúen expandiendo su área de trabajo. Los estudiantes también participaron en la presentación interactiva “Vivir en Salud”, ofrecida por la Fundación Mapfre.

"Vivir en Salud" se centra en los fundamentos de una buena nutrición para estimular en los estudiantes mejores hábitos alimenticios. En estas visitas, Pastrana Jiménez enfatiza que el propósito de establecer huertos escolares es para ayudar a crear conciencia entre la niñez y los jóvenes acerca de los beneficios de establecer  mejores patrones de alimentación, al tiempo que ayudamos a combatir múltiples condiciones relacionadas a la obesidad.

Pastrana aprovechó la oportunidad para compartir con los estudiantes y sus padres durante la hora del recreo en el comedor escolar, donde llevó varios de los frutos recogidos por los estudiantes en su huerto.
