Millonaria asignación para mejorar centros de trauma

31 de julio de 2013 – La Fortaleza – El gobernador Alejandro García Padilla aprobó la Resolución Conjunta del Senado 75, que ordena al Departamento de Hacienda a desembolsar $2 millones a favor de la Administración de Servicios Médicos (ASEM), para mejoras a los Centros de Trauma.

La millonaria partida proviene del Fondo Especial para el Financiamiento de los Centros de Trauma creado por la Ley Núm. 161-2012 para mejoras a estos centros de salud. Los fondos asignados en la resolución podrán parearse con aportaciones estatales, municipales o federales.

Con el decreto se autoriza, además, a contratar con los gobiernos municipales, contratistas privados, así como con cualquier departamento, agencia o corporación del Gobierno del Estado Libre Asociado de Puerto Rico para propósitos de la resolución.

“Mi compromiso con mejorar las condiciones de nuestro principal centro hospitalario es inquebrantable. Esta medida es importante para atender una facilidad pública que había caído en el abandono y que sin duda es vital para ofrecer servicios de salud a nuestra gente. Agradezco el trabajo de ambos cuerpos legislativos para viabilizar esta asignación de fondos", sostuvo García Padilla.

Con la aprobación del Primer Ejecutivo, la resolución entra en vigor de forma inmediata.
