La Fortaleza celebra el Día Mundial del Autismo

1 de abril de 2016 - La Fortaleza - El histórico Palacio de Santa Catalina formará parte una vez más de la iniciativa que lidera la Alianza de Autismo de Puerto Rico (AAPR), para educar acerca del autismo en la niñez puertorriqueña.

La emblemática estructura de La Fortaleza se iluminó nuevamente para unirse al llamado de conciencia durante el Día Mundial del Autismo.

La primera dama, Wilma Pastrana Jiménez, encabezó el llamamiento a la ciudadanía para continuar fomentando espacios de vida y de educación para toda la ciudadanía acerca del trastorno en el desarrollo que padecen niños y adultos en la isla.

“Es importante que todos y todas conozcamos acerca del autismo y que ayudemos a desarrollar las capacidades de cada persona diagnosticada. Creemos que cada niño o niña tiene la oportunidad de crecer y desarrollar sus talentos. En la medida en que cada uno de nosotros nos eduquemos y sirvamos como facilitadores de ese desarrollo, nuestro país también continuará progresando”, sostuvo Pastrana Jiménez.

El 2 de abril es la fecha designada a perpetuidad por la Organización de las Naciones Unidas para llevar el mensaje educativo de forma global.
