Estudiantes horticultores de visita en La Fortaleza

12 de mayo de 2014 - La Fortaleza - La primera dama, Wilma Pastrana Jiménez, recibió hoy en La Fortaleza a un grupo de estudiantes y profesores que pertenecen a la Asociación de Estudiantes de Horticultura.

Los jóvenes que cursan estudios en el Colegio de Ciencias Agrícolas de la Universidad de Puerto Rico, Recinto de Mayagüez; compartieron junto a la primera dama sus experiencias acerca del proceso de estudio y de siembra al tiempo que presentaron una serie de actividades que realizan para promover la siembra de huertos.

Pastrana Jiménez agradeció a los estudiantes y sus mentores por la labor de servicio que realizan y les exhortó a continuar trabajando por el desarrollo de sus comunidades y fomentando la seguridad alimentaria del país.

Por su parte, el grupo de estudiantes se comprometió a servir como voluntarios en las distintas iniciativas que desarrolla la primera dama a través del proyecto Siembra Vida en toda la isla.

“Admiro su deseo de aprender y de seguir evolucionando en lo que hacen. Les felicito y les auguro mucho éxito. Nuestro país necesita mucho más jóvenes con ese mismo interés y deseo de seguir aprendiendo para tener mayores oportunidades”, expresó Pastrana Jiménez.
