12 de junio de 2016 - La Fortaleza - El gobernador Alejandro García Padilla autoriza las siguientes expresiones sobre el ataque ocurrido en Orlando.

“El pueblo de Puerto Rico, Wilma y yo, nos unimos en oración por las víctimas y parientes del ataque ocurrido en la madrugada de hoy, en Orlando. En especial, vaya nuestra solidaridad y oración con las víctimas y sobrevivientes puertorriqueños, así como a sus familiares. El odio y el terror no pueden tener cabida en nuestra sociedad. Hoy despertamos con esta terrible noticia que trastoca nuestros más profundos sentimientos como país. No obstante, es momento de continuar luchando por los derechos de todos y todas y educar para que sea el amor el que siempre venza el odio. Todas las comunidades marginadas tienen en mí un aliado para seguir la lucha por la igualdad de derechos. Una vez más, elevo una plegaria al todopoderoso para que conceda paz, fortaleza y discernimiento en este terrible momento.”
