Declaraciones autorizadas del gobernador de Puerto Rico, Ricardo Rosselló Nevares:

(24 de agosto de 2018 – La Fortaleza, San Juan) “El aumento al salario mínimo en el sector de la construcción a $15 es una determinación de política pública de mi Administración en beneficio de los trabajadores. La Junta de Supervisión Fiscal ha reconocido nuestra facultad y ha realizado una recomendación.

Aunque estimamos su sugerencia, nuestro objetivo es garantizar que, en la reconstrucción de Puerto Rico, se remunere adecuadamente a nuestra clase trabajadora. Es necesario asegurar que los fondos de recuperación circulen en nuestra economía y hagan la debida justicia social.

Seguiremos buscando alternativas para ayudar al sector privado y para incentivar nuestra economía sin afectar este beneficio otorgado a los trabajadores. Aunque falta mucho por hacer, ya vemos signos positivos en los indicadores económicos y en las estadísticas federales de empleo”.
