Corozal inaugura ruta platanera

14 de octubre de 2015 - Corozal - El alcalde del Municipio de Corozal, Hon. Sergio Luis Torres Torres, inauguró la Ruta Platanera en el área central de la isla. El propósito de la creación de esta nueva alternativa en la zona es ampliar los servicios turísticos y resaltar la oferta gastronómica de Corozal. La Ruta Platanera es una iniciativa del Municipio de Corozal que cuenta con el apoyo de la Compañía de Turismo de Puerto Rico.

El primer ejecutivo municipal expresó: “La Ruta Platanera será la punta de lanza para el desarrollo turístico de Corozal. Este es solo el inicio de un Plan de Desarrollo Económico y Turístico en el que estamos trabajando para un Corozal en desarrollo, la mejor visión 2020”.

"En la Compañía de Turismo de Puerto Rico nos complace apoyar esta iniciativa que aumenta la oferta gastronómica y turística de la Isla y es parte de nuestra estrategia de fomentar los mercados nichos en la Isla. Además, promueve el desarrollo económico en la región", indicó la directora ejecutiva de la Compañía de Turismo, Ingrid I. Rivera Rocafort.

La Ruta Platanera tiene una variedad de platos puertorriqueños a base del producto principal agrícola de Corozal, el plátano. Este menú se compone de quince platos diferentes, uno por restaurante, confeccionados a base de plátano y diseñados exclusivamente para la Ruta por el grupo de comerciantes participantes del Municipio de Corozal. Algunos de estos platos son: Mofongo Relleno de Arroz Mamposteao, Mofongo Relleno con Carne de Guinea, Mofonboli, Mofongo de Tres Carnes en Salsa de Queso, Pasteles de Plátano con Carne Ahumada, y Conejo Ahumado con Tostones, entre otros.

Los restaurantes de la Ruta Platanera son: El Jíbaro, Willy’s BBQ, La Senda de Maná, El Gustazo Grill, Limo Viejo, El Tigre, La Generala, Don Rubios, Muralla de Cibuco, Café Museo El Yagrumo, Restaurante La Guinea, Aki E Keta, El Rancho, Platanéalo, Balaika #2 y Pa' Dónde. Este proyecto turístico redundará en el desarrollo económico del Municipio, incrementando las ventas en los comercios participantes y otros servicios en general, con la visita de turistas locales e internacionales.

El día jueves, 22 de octubre se realizará el Primer Festival Gastronómico de la Ruta Platanera en la Plaza Pública de Corozal a partir de las 6:00 p.m. Habrá música, artesanías y venta de los platos.
