Certifican empresa bajo programa de agroturismo

28 de mayo de 2015 - San Juan - La directora ejecutiva de la Compañía de Turismo de Puerto Rico (CTPR) , Ingrid I. Rivera Rocafort, anunció la certificación de la propiedad Quesos Vaca Negra bajo el Programa de Agroturismo de la CTPR. La fábrica de quesos artesanales es la cuarta certificación de proyecto agroturístico y la primera bajo la clasificación de planta procesadora de alimentos.

“Las facilidades de Quesos Vaca Negra ya contaban con el endoso promocional de la CTPR y ahora pasan a ser parte del grupo de cuatro propiedades certificadas por la CTPR bajo nuestro programa de agroturismo”, comentó la Titula de Turismo. “Esta nueva certificación contribuye a diversificar la oferta del destino y promover el desarrollo y actividad de la industria turística en la zona norte de la Isla”, Las tres otras certificaciones del programa pertenecen a Café Lucero en Ponce, Café Nativo en Jayuya, y Hacienda Tres Ángeles en Adjuntas, cuyas actividades están basadas en el cultivo.

Quesos Vaca Negra combina la experiencia de agroturismo y gastronomía. La propiedad está localizada en la carretera PR-492, cerca de la intersección 130 en el municipio de Hatillo. La actividad de procesamiento del queso lleva establecida 5 años, y los recorridos guiados los pasados 2 años. El recorrido, disponible por reservación solamente, incluye un video explicativo acerca del proceso de elaboración de queso y yogurt, degustación de distintos tipos de quesos, y da la oportunidad a los visitantes a crear su propio queso personalizado con especias.
